| One point four billion people lacked access to drinking water and a further 2.6 billion to basic sanitation facilities in 2007. A reality that has direct and harmful consequences on the levels of health, education, poverty, social development, and gender equity in the lives of the world’s poor. |

| Please sign our petition which calls on Canada to oppose the privatization of water and recognise water as a basic human right. The petition will be presented to the federal government in 2008. |
