Since the 2004 Tsunami, we have also been engaged in reconstruction work in India, Thailand and Sri Lanka. |

| Women participate in their government |

The East Timor Women’s Network that works towards empowering women and promoting democracy:

|
• Hosted legal workshops which enabled the participants to lobby the national parliament to pass a pending law against domestic violence. |
 |
|
• Sent four representatives to the National Dialogue on Peace with the East Timor President, in order to promote peace in the country. |
 |
|
Survivors of the Tsunami rebuild their communities |
|
After the 2004 Tsunami, UPLINK, or the Urban Poor Linkage, an organization in Indonesia: |

|
• Built 3,300 house and community centers, a health clinic, roads, wells and drainage systems in 23 villages |
 |
|
• Created a network to foster linkages and exchange between communities. |
 |
|
Youth have their voice heard |
|
The Youth Resource Development Program, a nation-wide group representing Cambodian youth: |
 |
|
• Organized a Culture Day attended by 200 students from 20 different universities to exchange on Khmer youth, culture and globalization. |
 |
|
• Produced 6 issues per year of a newsletter entitled “Reality and Society”, distributed in institutions across the country and with a circulation of 12,000.
