Development and Peace is the only Canadian organization to have a large-scale program in Mexico.
This program has existed for more than 30 years and has enabled Development and Peace to forge solid bonds with local groups.
The program has four main priorities:
- Democratization of the country and respect for human rights;
- The development of economic alternatives that make it possible to curb economic inequalities and emigration;
- Strengthening of the social and political role of women; and
- Peace in indigenous areas.
