L to R: Pembroke DC members Margaret Conroy, Peggy Miller and Rose-Anne Boucher meet with MP Cheryl Gallant

Pembroke DC members presented a stack of signed cards to their MP, Cheryl Gallant, in a meeting with her on February 19th.
“We made a full presentation, responded to her questions, and captured her interest,” reports Margaret Conroy, the Pembroke DC Chair. “Our MP seemed particularly taken with the Mandatory not Voluntary map!” Copies of this map are still available through your animator.

Wall of Justice a hit at BC Fall Action Workshop

On the last weekend of September Prince George DC members enjoyed sunny weather and spectacular scenery as part of their Fall Action formation workshop at Camp Emile, Mobile Lake.

Participants found the timeline exercise, the Wall of Justice, to be one of the workshop’s highlights. Adding their local actions to the national ones gave them a sense of pride in what they’ve achieved in the past two years, and helped them feel part of a truly national campaign. Many good ideas for future local actions came out of the process.

It was also an occasion to say good-bye to their temporary animator, Paul Corcoran, whose contract is coming to an end.

The Wall of Justice activity is described in this document: c_social-justice-workshop-pdf1   To access the full workshop, members are invited to use their password to find it under Fall Action 08 in the Workshops section of the Formation website. Or contact your animator.

Leaders Reviewing Fall Action Formation
Leaders Reviewing Fall Action Formation

On Saturday September 13th, seven Toronto-area member-leaders had a great day getting ready to take the campaign to the people of their Archdiocese!

Last year Toronto went from hosting one fall campaign workshop to hosting four, adding Mississauga, Whitby and Barrie workshops.  Member-leaders are now trained to lead Fall Action workshops in their own region. In 2007 this led to a 100% increase in the number of workshop participants!
Members wanting to lead workshops in their areas have access to all the workshop materials, in English and French, on-line at our Formation sites. Don’t hesitate to ask your animator for the Formation site address and password.
