Sam is Publications and Communications Manager with Development and Peace partner Youth Resource Development Program (YRDP) in Cambodia. She participated in the World Social Forum as part of a Development and Peace youth delegation.
It is with these words that Jean-Denis Lampron, President of the National Council of Development and Peace, kicked off the activities of the 50th anniversary of Development and Peace last Saturday night, August 13th.
Development and Peace is co-organizing several workshops at the World Social Forum that will feature activists from around the world. These workshops touch on themes that are at the heart of the work of Development and Peace and its partners in the Global South, such as climate change, ecological justice and agroecology.
“The Untold Stories of Environmental Exiles of Ogoniland”, a new report published by Social Action, a Development and Peace partner in Nigeria, exposes the ongoing displacement and forced migration resulting from oil pollution in Ogoniland.

In June 2016, eight Development and Peace members from Eastern Québec will be travelling to Cambodia with their regional animators for 20 days. They will be visiting the regions of Phnom Phen, Kampot, Siem Reap, Battambang and Ratanakiri.
