First, take a rich tradition like the Catholic one of fasting on Good Friday.

Add 241 people and 67 groups across Canada who want to share their hope for a better world with their family and friends and are willing to go without food to do so.

Mix them together and you have the Development and Peace Good Friday Fast - an online effort to cook up support for our mission of building a better world. The fast happens this Friday, March 29th!

Our staff have signed up. D&P National Council members (our board of directors) have signed up.

But this recipe still needs its final ingredient... you!

You are the icing on the cake! Sign-up and join the Good Friday Fast today!

It’s simple: sign-up online then e-mail your friends and get them to sponsor you. View our how-to clip on the right to help you start your page.

Catholics fast on Good Friday in observance of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Today the poor and oppressed continue to be crucified, including nearly one billion of our brothers and sisters for whom hunger is not a choice.

Yet we also fast in hope of the Resurrection that we know will come on Easter Sunday.

Development and Peace supports over 90 different groups in 20 countries around the world who share that hope - the hope that death does not have the final word but that life, goodness, justice and peace are our common destiny.

Join us today. Dedicate this Good Friday to helping others around the world.
