Last December, Mrs. Alfreda Bérubé, an active member of Development and Peace and a longstanding member of the Edmundston Diocesan Council, was awarded a Prime Minister’s Volunteer Award for her commitment to volunteering in her community. She also founded the Centre l’Éclosion (literally, the “hatching” centre — as in hatching a plan or an idea), an organization that for more than 20 years has worked towards the social inclusion of individuals with disabilities. Her activities defending human rights are as inspiring as her extraordinary drive.
Congratulations to Alfreda!
