It was with a lot of pride that I witnessed, on Wednesday October 16, the application of this principle in Ste-Geneviève de Batiscan, in the diocese of Trois-Rivières. A press conference was held at the Hall of Veterans where some thirty guests and journalists attended the handover of the “suitcase of the quilt” by Sister Claudette Dumont, of the Community of the Sisters of Ste-Chrétienne of Quebec, to Bishop Luc Bouchard of the diocese of Trois-Rivières.

About twenty quilt patches from the dioceses of Eastern Canada, as well as a few from Southern partners, were displayed for the participants. We also had the opportunity to hear “Je me souviens”, a song composed by the chair of the Diocesan Council of Quebec, Mr. Augustin Betchi, to mark the 50th anniversary of Development and Peace. It was followed by a lunch prepared and served by the women of the Collective Kitchens of Ste-Genevieve. I can truly say that the event proved to be a feast for all the senses!
