Young Adults

Are you passionate about social justice? Are you looking to learn about the root causes of global poverty? Build a more just world? Develop your leadership skills?

There are many ways young adults can be involved in Development and Peace, a movement of solidarity standing with our sisters and brothers in the global south!

If you are looking to get involved as a young adult at a local, regional or national level, please click HERE to contact your local animator or reach out to Selina, our national Youth Programs Officer, at youth@devp.org.

From rallying at your local Climate March, to traveling to meet our partners on a Solidarity Tour, becoming a member means countless opportunities for you to take action for social justice.

We also have a multitude of resources for campus, schools and parishes in our activities database.

D&P Schools Program

  • The D&P Schools Program helps Catholic schools engage social and global justice issues through the lens of their faith. Inspired by Pope Francis’s encyclical Laudato Si’, the program encourages school communities to nurture three fundamental and interconnected relationships: to God, to each other, and to the natural world. Pope Francis says that when we nurture these relationships, we promote an integral ecology that “takes us to the heart of what it is to be human.” We hope that this Program Kit and student-friendly “Flip the World Flipbook” will provide you with concrete (and fun!) challenges to help take you there!
  • Registered D&P Schools will be connected with a local animator who will accompany you and your students as you complete the world-changing challenges listed in our Program Kit. Each challenge corresponds to a virtual “badge” so you can track your progress. Earn as many as you can during the school year! Register here.
